Breaking the Habit

I’m 40 in two months y’all! That’s a big one so you already know my self-awareness is on 100 but it’s all good stuff… Maybe not all🙃. Last week I was swerving all over my mind’s freeway but this week I’m in the lane of progress, so I feel good! Y’all know we pray about everything and when we ask for change, we walk in faith to bring it into fruition. I’m praying to be my healthiest, so I ate my last delicious large McDonald’s fry this week. And… a filet-o-fish but please don’t judge me; this is supposed to be a safe space, lol. I cut my 100 days of gratitude on IG short and logged off social media. I’m also praying for amazing thriving relationships and opportunities, so I am being intentional to ensure I handle all things with care.

God talks to me through reoccurring messages. I be floating through life, so you gotta make sure I hear you for me to retain what is being said. Isn’t that dope how God knows His children!?! Anywho silencing external noise is the current message, and I think it’s mostly about being focused on Him so I can walk on water and not look down at my feet.🏁

Our friends, family and colleagues love differently, forgive differently, view life, grace, and challenges differently than we do. We have minicomputers in our hands all day and we digest and divulge a lot of information which leaves us susceptible to… lol, a lot of information🫤. We have 70,000 thoughts a day, 85% are negative and 95% are repetitive… like, WHAT?!? You know how that may decrease if we cut out the casual conversations where humans’ default to giving unsolicited advice!?! Imagine how beneficial it would be to not share our doubts out loud over and over again. Or to not open the door to talk about our parents, friends or new bae which freely gives access to someone else’s opinion on subjects we hold dear to our hearts. We deserve privacy! Plus our mouths, our words, our thoughts are powerful, and we just be speaking over our lives and letting others speak all over our lives like it’s nothing. A whole bunch of oversharing and ion like it...

I’m not saying live in the dark, I am saying we must handle ourselves with care and unfortunately some humans we love feed our fears more than our faith so be selective. The stuff that’s near and dear to us deserves protection and privacy is a major key. Privacy allows for us to connect to our process and hear God’s instructions. Privacy allows us room to flow without unsolicited advice. Talking less allows us to not give out unsolicited advice or information which all aides in silencing the noise and much needed focus. FOCUS. Be intentional. We gotta feed our faith so devour the word of God instead of all this fluff. Talk less and do more. No need to announce our plans it’s time to silence the noise and execute. SHOW UP. BE DOPE. DO YOU. #SincerelyJam💋
