Candy Rain

Like the rain love flows over and through us, drowning us or cleaning us off. It can be sour and sweet. Especially the unconditional kind. I LOVE it. Not because it’s pretty or perfect but because it’s raw. Authenticity can be found there. 90’s R&B style love! It seems rare nowadays as if the heart of it all is missing. Remember how men would confess their love? “Lady I will cry for you.” “I only think of you on two occasions, that’s day AND night.”

The goal was depth of all sorts and far from shallow. What happen??? Are men scared to love, are women scared to be loved, and vice versa, or all the above? Lol, who knows but being single in these times makes it easy to get discouraged with it all. The lack of communication and cageyness seems like people are content with providing and receiving superficial associations. I am not! Real connection begins once we break the skin. I don’t only want to see your tattoos; I want to know why you got them. I wanna learn about your scars. In my friendships and partnerships, I want to meet their families. I wanna know your story and share mine. I doubt we can thoroughly enjoy someone if we don’t get to know them. Plus, it isn’t fun to hide who we are. It’s not fair either, to you or the world. We need your style, presence and love sprinkled in all the places only your version can go. That’s what we deserve! That’s wealth, the value in our human connections. Healthy, safe spaces that allow vulnerability. We need love in our corner, in all corners and we need to provide our love in rich, hearty ways. We must obtain it, place it and thrive in its redundancy. Picture how plush life would be with unconditional love, candid communication and genuine friendships sprinkled about like Candy Rain; sweet sticky drops constantly landing on our skin and seeping into our souls. Lol, how yummy...
