Lift Off

Do you lie to yourself? Off top I would say no but the lie detector determined “That was a lie.”. So I’ma ask y’all again and this time be very honest: Do you lie to you? Growing up I wanted to be a lawyer, not just any lawyer I wanted to own a firm that helped those who needed us, and I barely wanted to go to court. Think Jessica Pearson mixed with Mike Ross in Suits. As an adult, I said I wanted to be Jerry Bruckheimer. The guy who EP’s multi-million-dollar movies, TV shows and puts his friends on but most wouldn’t know his face in a grocery store. I’ve been wealthy in my daydreams for as far back as I can remember but I never wanted to be famous because I like my privacy.

I think I’ve been claiming I’m a great number two because I like my privacy. Literally saying I like the background, supporting roles and somebody needs to be number two because too many people want to be number one. All that is true but it’s not the only truth. If you’ve met me my natural qualities don’t even align with playing in the shadows. God’s light literally shines and attracts people everywhere I go and I’m claiming number two. Please note nothing is wrong with two. It’s a lot of work and I can be number two proudly, but I was using it as a cop-out. I was focused on helping everyone else make their dreams come true when I am a dreamer too.

I’ve been lying to myself while promoting team be honest with yourself, know yourself and all this and that to hide and not do the work. Have you been hiding from your destiny too? If so, I get it. Life has knocked us down multiple times. We get up and we do “our best” and mosey on to the next thing. Getting up is good. If that’s all you got, I’m proud of you for it but if you have more now is the time to lift off.

It will not be easy, but you were made to do hard things; you’re a child of God. Your old habits will try to get in the way as will the devil therefore do not go at this alone. Read your bible daily and study words that stand out. Share with your support system what you’re doing. Not your family or your friends, your support system. The people who cheer for you. The people who believe in your dreams too, hold you accountable and pray with you. Get some boundaries. Oh, baby get some boundaries cause you gotta start kindly saying no and you gotta be ok in your soul with it, but I’ll write more on that next week, lol. Write the vision down. Make it plain (Habakkuk 2:2-3), look and work at that every single day. Focus. Not on what you can’t do, or don’t have, not on the money, focus on your skills, and God; that’s it, the resources will come. Turn the noise down and I promise He will get you where you’re supposed to go. Be patient and keep me posted on all the great things that come.

Thanks always for reading. #SincerelyJam
