Case study shows a stranger a day keeps the doctor away. Just kidding but I do feel amazing and I talk to strangers. A lot. It’s actually some of my favorite conversations. Plus isn’t everyone a stranger, at least until they aren’t, lol? That’s how you learn things, right? Especially from people that live differently than you do.

There are so many views we’d never see without another’s insights. Simple messages are so eloquently conveyed through grocery store aisle chats and walks on the beach. I ask questions and take it all in. I keep a lot of the information, compartmentalize, and dispose of the rest. That’s another thing you learn, how to listen even if you don’t agree. Giving a person the freedom to speak and be heard without judgement is pure kindness. Conversations where you don’t need to be right or need the other person to be right, where you get to simply hear another’s thoughts.

I enjoy those. You always walk away with something, even if it’s just better listening skills or how not to talk to someone, lol, it’s a lesson. Do yourself a favor and speak to a stranger soon. Oh and pass out a few compliments. Ask a question to hear the answer and not what you think the answer is. Ask a question to see how they processes their answer. Slow down and enjoy being human. Matter of fact Be Humane.

I bet you’ll like it. You’ll want to do it more and more and it will encourage others to do it more and more too. Compassion is the reason for the season. Learn. Spread Joy. Feel the freedom it all brings.
