Unforgettable

Unforgettable is defined as indelibly impressed on the memory. That is what I want to be in the most healthiest of ways. To leave a legacy of helping people love themselves and elevate themselves is a goal of mine. While figuring out the best way to do that I questioned if I was loving my own self completely. Like am I the most authentic I can be so the right people can connect with me? I honestly do not think I have been. I think I have hidden in some rooms and around some people. I think I have mislead some to think certain behavior was acceptable because I have extended grace and forgivness. I have not had certain conversations that require the boldness of me in fear it may discomfort others. Have you ever done that? Have you ever lived your life to make others comfortable??? I have even left my dreams in other people’s hands, lol, like they have a say so. Like I do not control my destiny and everything I want does not come to fruition through the grace of God. Like I am ordinary. After some digging I realized my childhood plays a large part. When abused you create a fantasy world to escape reality as a survival or coping mechanism. This can create a misfire of how very real some things or situations are. This is why we say yes when we want to say no, ride in the backseat when we should be driving or trusting although our discernment says it’s unsafe. Multiple things that go against our core and our instincts have happened because we were raised to think we got it all wrong. I am here to remind us that we know what’s right and now is the perfect time to hit reset.
Reset is easier said than done, yet it is doable. It requires learning skills we may have never gotten and leaning into what we naturally know. It is not our insecurities though. It is not our defensiveness or anger, it is vulnerability. It is sharing love by providing information on how we receive and disburse love. It is permission to fully be ourselves everyday and be ok with who fucks with it and who does not. Some people will not and that is ok. That is how the highway to and from us becomes clear. Reset also requires complete honesty. To create a boundary we must know the difference between what hurts and what feels good but is unfamiliar. We must be fearless with our exchanges, which simply takes practice and patience. One minute at a time is all we need to conquer. One moment until the next. Small wins will provide the confidence to keep it up. Consistency will set a bar for us and those around us. Our voice will become ours, it will lose the hesitation we picked up along the way and it will gain its proper authentic tone. Just stay open, just stay honest and kind and the legacy of unforgettable will follow you. #SincerelyJam ✨🦋✨
