Use Your Heart

When was the last time you used your heart and not your mind? I’m logical. I like things to make total sense before proceeding, but fortunately, God works around my imperfections. My most magical moments weren’t planned and if they had been I may have fumbled them with overthinking and unnecessary pressure. Thinking before acting is great yet faith is required for the big things and sometimes the sense simply doesn’t add up.
As we live, grow, and experience this beautiful thing called life we encounter heartbreaks; things that make us think we need more guards and more protection but I think we need more vulnerability. Our heart is a muscle that keeps us alive by pumping blood through us in such an intricate way if anything blocks that flow it will cause a major hindrance in our quality of life. Think about that. Our blood flow is natural and easy; with God, our life can be like this too. If we keep Him in the center and move like He does we’ll love like He does. When we extend love to those who may not do the same to us and focus on healthy intentions, Godly impact, and the outcome for the greater good we stay open and in the proper flow of things. In no way am I saying be misused, I am saying do all things with kindness and hope. The way I practice this is by thinking the best of people and situations. Often when we don’t have the answers we make one up and choose the worst one we can think of but since we’re making it up why not choose the one we want?
The worst one is depressing and the one we want is hopeful, neither is stupid cause remember it’s all made up. Instead of pulling from painful moments from the past, you’ll train your brain to see things as you want them to be. This does not set you up for failure or disappointment, nothing prepares you for that. No matter how much you focus on the outcome you fear if said outcome arrives you still have to handle it in that moment, in those current feelings therefore worrying only steals your joy and decreases your faith.
When we use our hearts we adapt to feeling our way through life. When we stay in our Bibles and connected to God we can trust our feelings. When we hone in on our intuition and acknowledge our insecurities we design a safer life for ourselves and those around us. This isn’t delusional, it’s faithful. Getting our heart posture in healthy alignment is critical to navigating our dreams, desires and keeping our faith. Use your heart more, build that muscle, let love and vulnerability flow. When we share our kindness with the world it has an amazing way of giving it back to us.✨
Sincerely, Jam
