Standing Still

Are you standing still? Fight or flight is our natural response to danger because we generally must move to prevent harm. Our nervous system literally provides the body with a burst of energy so that it can respond to perceived dangers.

It’s unnatural to not resist an attack so why the heck do we freeze. We are approaching the final quarter of 2020. I don’t know about you, but this year will not take another thing from me. It took a lot so it’s not getting out of here without giving me something. I need that. Remember it’s been sucka punching me so now I need a rematch but this time in the ring, paid and televised. While the world is consistently reminding us of so much negative it’s easy to get stuck. I was. Wanting things to change and feeling helpless because the people who should fix what is broken, what they broke, are not. Think about that though. Can the people that broke a thing and benefit from a thing being broken truly repair it??? Of course, but only if they want to so I started thinking, when have I ever waited for someone else to fix something for me? Reminder Dolls, we have a huge God and a purpose so enough with looking elsewhere, TURN INSIDE.

That’s what I can do. I can be light. I can be around light. I can inspire, give, and share. The world has always been a mess it’s simply visible now. I typically go after what I want and get it. I want to help therefore that’s what I’m doing. I want change therefore I’m putting myself in position and making the change happen. I’m building the nonprofit, I’m writing the books and scripts that will break generational curse, provide television shows and I am handling life. Is this easy? Not at all but I’m done with life handling me. So, I write about the good. I can include the downs but more about the ups or even just the normal. Not our torment or CTSD (Continuous Traumatic Stress Disorder) but about our achievements big and small. The Romcoms and shows about nothing or dating or love or family. Well written dramas not about racism but normal life. Remember in the 90’s Black Love movies and WB or UPN had black people on tv for us to watch. I need that. We need that! That’s my fix. I am focused on what I can do not what I can’t. We should focus on our solutions. So, I ask you again, are you standing still?

Is the world moving by you as you sit with you head in your hands? Injustice is a tragedy, yet we can change it. We can commit to work on our part each day. What are you going to do? Are you going to get the life that appears in your daydreams, or will you keep dreaming? Please don’t let this time pass you by. Games are won in the final quarter. We can change the score. Just one step in front of the other. That’s all it takes. You may take a water break when needed just don’t stop. Don’t stand still. #SincerelyJam
